I Won An Award

Hi everyone! This is me speaking to you as the real person I am, not the guy who normally posts the things that I tend to post on here. I only have so long before I transform back into that monster, so please let me humor you with a little SELF-PROMOTION.

A few months ago, I wrote a spec script (industry talk for “fake script normies write”) for the show Bob’s Burgers on Fox. And it won “Best Spec Script” over at this place. Please, hold your applause and stop blowing into whatever whistle you may be using. I know you’re already doubled over laughing at the achingly funny description of the episode. Don’t over exhaust yourself with more cheering!

Firstly, I’d like to thank my friend Alex for helping me punch up the script (industry term for “physically punching paper”). He’s great. Follow him on Twitter. You have no reason not to since the link on his name takes you directly there!

Secondly, I’d like to thank everyone at Acclaim Scripts for voting (?) for me. I don’t know any of those guys, but I have always depended on the kindness of strangers (R.I.P. Tennessee “The State” Williams), and I’m very flattered that they chose my script. If you write scripts and don’t know what to do with them (like me), consider entering in their contest.

Thirdly, I’d like to thank everyone involved at Bob’s Burgers for making a really great show. This script was so fun to write, and I couldn’t say that if the show were half as good as it is. The new season starts on March 11th, so watch that.
