“Lilyhammer” Spinoffs

GUYS. Lilyhammer. It’s on the tip of everyone’s tongue. When’s the last time you thought about anything else but Lilyhammer aside from breathing? Bruce Soprano and the E-Street Band’s own Little Steven Van Zandt stars in Netflix’s first original series as a New York gangster in Norway? NO(r)WAY. Talk about a fish of water, or should I say, a New York gangster out of New York, the water of cities.

What’s great about Lilyhammer is that it’s a show that can be infinitely reproduced. Just stick Steven Van Zandt’s New York guy in a weird place and you’ve got magic happening. So here are some ideas I have for Lilyhammer spinoffs. My hope is that Netflix buys all of my ideas and reimagines their service as a network dedicated to just showing episodes of Lilyhammer and various Lilyhammer spinoffs. A man can dream, and this is a pretty good dream:

• Yokohama  (Tagline: “A New York Cab Driver. In Japan?”)
• Spruce Grove (Tagline: “A New York Hot Dog Vendor. In Canada?”)
• Khayelitsha (Tagline: “A New York Bike Messenger. In South Africa?”)
• Entebbe (Tagline: “A New York-Based Dubstep Producer. In Uganda?”)
• Dalanzadgad (Tagline: “A New York Etsy Enthusiast. In Mongolia?”)
• Elbasan (Tagline: “A New York ‘Female Body Inspector’ T-Shirt Owner. In Albania?”)
• Mendoza (Tagline: “A New York Detroit Red Wings Fan. In Argentina?”)
• Frederiksberg (Tagline: “A New York Two-Headed Boy From A Coney Island Freak Show. In Denmark?”)
• Beersheba (Tagline: “A New York Steven Van Zandt Impresario. In Israel?”)
• Nakhon Ratchasima (Tagline: “A New York Guy Who Throws Leftover Pretzels To Seagulls. In Thailand?”)
• Dnipropetrovsk (Tagline: “A New York-Style Pizza. In Ukraine?”)

And so on and so on you get the joke I’m done.
